Contemporary ethical training programs are an innovative manner of training for the next human level of development in individuals, organizations, and communities. We know we have a crisis of leadership qualities within ourselves. There is little courage within us to deal with difficult ethical choices. This is a HR responsibility as well as an individual responsibility. Offering ethical decision-making in these turbulent, unsafe and troubled times makes these programs a touchy subject for trainees and society. Creating ethical guidelines, statements, missions, visions, and codes of conduct consistent with our daily work and personal lives produces positive outcomes for satisfied personnel and thereby increases organizational effectiveness.

MANAGEMENT

Ethical Culture and Organizational Reactions: Where an ethical culture does not exist, there is not organizational effectiveness. Chaordic Organizations are a “melting process of chaos and order” (Hock, D.) that evolve from traditional hierarchical and authoritarian models toward self-organization. They are a formal group of individuals who shares a vision through voluntary participation, autonomy, cooperation (mutual aid), and consensus of ethical decision-making. They can reflect anarchism (chaos), but with a harmonious (order) and anti-authoritarian authenticity.

Human Resources as Human Relationships and Human Race: People gain understanding of their human resources and talents (human ethical values).

• The “P” Controversy of People and Profits: People come before profits.

Work/Life Ethical Decisions: Ethics proves and challenges conventional wisdom with no internal dilemmas. When people are not ethical, the dilemma surges with the complexities of the real world to make tough ethical decisions about money, family, relationships, career development, felicity, prosperity, freedom, and peace. Finding open-minded solutions consistent with our personal and professional values defines our core values: confidence, compassion, self-esteem, responsibility, generosity, humility, loyalty, respect, and fairness, to name the important ones.

OBEDIENCE

Authority, Discipline, and Dignity: We have discrimination based on authority that shows abuse of power. Obedience is a discipline that authorizes dignity for all.

• Character Development: It is the courage to know who we are and who we will become.

Listening to the Inner Voice: It is the journey to the innermost self where ethics exists.

REASON

Measuring Ethical Programs Effectiveness and Ethical Culture: People take a comprehensive ethical survey that focuses on our thoughts and actions.

Finding a Reason to Change “Who I used to be:” Why do we want to change?

Ethical/legal Issues: Following the law does not necessarily mean being ethical. “It is a familiar rule that a thing may be within the letter of the statute and yet not within the statute, because not within its spirit nor within the intention of its makers” (Brennan, J). Ethics is above the law; therefore, it cannot be regulated.

AUTHENTICITY

• Honesty and Genuineness: Genuine service implies spiritual growth.

• Realistic/Symbolic World Vision:
Although we do not know the ultimate or total truth about reality, it pertains to us all (ethical evolution).

Sensitivity Training: Let us restore confidence in ethically sensitive situations: no black and white, right and wrong, good and bad answers can avoid the whole dignity examination of the human process.

• Changing Behavior through the Power of Emotions: Thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, and performance can change individual behavior.

LIBERTY

Free Attitude and Responsibility: Human beings are not yet prepared for the responsibilities of freedom in an age of complex technology and interdependence; or are they? Are you ready for a new ethical age?

• Freedom to Choose: The right use of the free-will power to overcome adversity. There are always right choices. The experience in life is to train your will.

Satisfaction of Needs, “The G theory:” The mystery of “G” (God) in our lives is awesome.
